Why the membership fee matters more than the headline price
There are two dominant pricing models in GLP-1 telehealth, and the advertised number tells you almost nothing about which one you are looking at. In the bundled model, one monthly price covers the provider consultation, the medication, ongoing monitoring and shipping. In the split model, a membership fee buys clinical access and the medication is billed separately, often at a price that is not shown until later in the checkout.
Both can be reasonable. The problem is that the two are advertised identically. A provider charging $99 all-in and a provider charging $99 for membership before medication can both put $99 on a landing page, and only one of those is your actual monthly cost.
The FTC has already acted on this
The Federal Trade Commission took enforcement action against telehealth provider NextMed in 2025 specifically for advertising monthly prices that excluded the cost of the medication, lab work and provider consultations. The resulting settlement required full cost transparency before payment. If a price seems to exclude something obvious, that instinct is well founded.
Providers that charge no separate membership fee
These providers publish a single price that they state includes the consultation, the medication and shipping. Prices below reflect what each published at the time of writing and change frequently.

The no-subscription category, which is different again
A small number of providers go further than removing the membership: they remove the subscription itself. SkinnyVIP sells a three-month tirzepatide plan for $695 with no auto-billing and no auto-renewal, so there is nothing to cancel. Figure Weight Loss charges $99 per televisit with no start-up fee, monthly contract or subscription at all.
This model suits anyone who has struggled to exit a recurring charge, and it changes the risk profile: you cannot be billed for a month you did not intend to buy. The trade-off is that you have to remember to reorder, and per-unit pricing tends to be a little higher than the deepest annual-commitment rates.
Providers that do charge a membership on top
Split pricing is not automatically worse. It is often how providers offering brand-name FDA-approved medication structure their service, because the medication cost is genuinely outside their control. The important thing is to add the two numbers together before comparing.
Consultation-fee models
Figure Weight Loss at $99 per visit and Doctronic at $39 per visit charge for clinical time only. Medication is your responsibility and is billed elsewhere entirely.
Membership plus medication
GoodRx Care publishes a monthly membership alongside separately priced medication. Your real cost is the sum of both, not the membership alone.
Dose-based medication pricing
Aspire Health charges a monthly care fee plus medication priced by weekly dose, from $129 to $299 a vial. Model your cost at a maintenance dose, not a starting one.
Manufacturer-direct routes
LillyDirect and NovoCare Pharmacy sell brand-name medication without a clinical membership, though you still need a prescription.
How to check which model you are being sold
- Ask directly: is the advertised price the total monthly cost including medication?
- Ask what changes when your dose increases, since dose-based pricing is the second-largest hidden cost after membership
- Ask whether labs are included, billed separately, or not required at all
- Ask whether the advertised rate requires a three, six or twelve-month prepayment
- Ask what the price becomes at renewal if the current rate is promotional
- Take the checkout flow to the final payment screen before entering card details, and compare that number with the landing page
The prepayment trap that replaces the membership fee
Removing the membership fee has not removed complexity from this market, it has moved it. Most of the lowest advertised rates now require a long prepayment instead. Cora Health's $99 needs $1,188 upfront. Ondra Health's $96 needs $1,149. REMEVi's $179 is billed as $1,074 every 24 weeks. AltRx's lowest rates require six or twelve-month commitments.
That matters because refund policies vary enormously. Cora publishes a detailed policy refunding undelivered batches at a rebilled quarterly rate. Ondra states that once a prescription reaches the pharmacy every charge is final. Same category, same price bracket, completely different exposure if you stop in month three. What we would actually do
If you are confident you will stay on treatment for a year and you have read the refund policy, the annual-commitment all-inclusive providers are the cheapest credible route. If you are not sure, pay the month-to-month rate for the first two or three months. The difference between $99 and $175 a month for three months is $228, which is far less than the amount at risk in a prepaid year you abandon at month four.
